His rise on the ATP rankings was marked by incredible perseverance. Filip achieved his career-high ranking of world No. 26, solidifying his place among the global tennis elite. The tennis world remembers him best for his masterful run to the final of the ATP Masters in Paris, where he reached the title match starting from the qualifiers, as well as his finals at prestigious tournaments in Hamburg, Queen's, Budapest, and Stockholm.

Throughout his rich professional career, Filip became recognizable for his refined style of play and his surgically precise two-handed backhand. As a long-standing and staple member of the Serbian Davis Cup team, he defended his country's colors across all continents, sharing the locker room and courts with Novak Djokovic and other champions of the "golden generation."
